High-End Residential Electrical Installation, Clifton, Bristol

What the client wanted

The client was carrying out a significant renovation on a high-end property near Clifton College, removing the basement floor to create a large open ground floor space. The scale of the structural change meant the property required a level of fire safety installation more typically associated with commercial buildings.

What we did

Because the floor between basement and ground level was removed to create the open expanse, building regulations required a full sprinkler system, fire doors, a complete fire alarm system and fire curtains. The fire curtains are designed to drop automatically when the fire alarm activates, closing off the large open space to prevent fire spreading between levels.

We designed and installed the full fire safety electrical systems alongside the wider electrical installation for the property, working to the same standard we would apply to any commercial project.

Outcome

A full residential electrical installation with a commercial-grade fire safety system, meeting building regulations for the scale of the conversion.
